Two mechanics that have been on the whiteboard for a while are finally in the game.
Rotation
When a snake picks up a rotation item, the board rotates 90 degrees. The maze changes around the snake — the snake itself stays in world position. Walls move, paths close, and the route you planned no longer works.
The sequence pauses briefly, the board animates, then execution continues. Planning around a maze that changes mid-run is a different kind of puzzle.
Focus moves
Focus moves let you target a single board with one move instead of sending it to both snakes. It punches a hole in the one-sequence-two-snakes constraint — but only where the level allows it. Used sparingly, it opens up puzzle designs that would otherwise be unsolvable without breaking the core mechanic.
